A mint condition example of an original Commando Para qualification in metal (do not believe cloth variants exist). This style insignia is made for the Para Commando’s Basic, Monitor and Instructor. These Commando qualification insignia are awarded to military parachutists who complete the training course based on the French Commando course.
This training is distinctly separate from the Army Commando’s.
Training subjects include hand to hand combat, markmanship, map reading, swimming, demolition and sabotage operations, rock climbing and related mountaineering, combat patrols and raids and ambushes.
